Had to be at pickup (taxi from hotel) 1 hour before departure bus to be shure we where there 1,5 hr. 30 Minutes before departure we called ‘driver is on its way’. 15 minutes before departure we called ... Had to be at pickup (taxi from hotel) 1 hour before departure bus to be shure we where there 1,5 hr. 30 Minutes before departure we called ‘driver is on its way’. 15 minutes before departure we called again ‘driver is on its way’. 5 minutes before depature I called again and the told me driver ‘couldn’t’ find the hotel (hotel from the list!). Couldn’t make it on time and missed the bus. Finally had to buy (and pay) 2 new bustickets from other company & lines to get my flight just on time. Sout Thai promised a refund but never received. Lot of stress and lost of money, never again!!!

We booked a minivan return trip with Soutchai to Kong Lor from Vientiane, departing 12 April returning 14 April for $76. We were collected from the hotel on time but that is where the story becomes a ... We booked a minivan return trip with Soutchai to Kong Lor from Vientiane, departing 12 April returning 14 April for $76. We were collected from the hotel on time but that is where the story becomes a rip-off. The person who collected us from the hotel brought us to the public bus station, not Soutchai minivan service. He asked for 85000 kip. We told him no way as all was paid in advance. Someone on the the driver's mobile told us to go to desk 21 in the bus station for tickets which I had already paid for. The person at desk 21 had no idea what we were talking about, and directed us to the Kong Lor public bus. On arrival at Kong Lor the driver said we had to pay him the full bus fare and said the Soutchai ticket was no good. The public bus thankfully was only 180,000 kip (~$8). We had to take the public bus return to Vientiane and a taxi to the hotel on 14 April, and again pay for both even though we already paid Soutchai. So basically, Soutchai charged us $ 76 for a transfer to the bus station - a taxi would have been $8. Despite several emails, Soutchai replied once to say they would revert after the New Year. I never heard from them. Avoid Soutchai and get the public bus.
